Portishead RBL Bowls Club was formed in 1967 and affiliated to Bowls England and Somerset Bowls Association, the club has 3 teams in the Somerset League, which play throughout the summer on Saturday afternoons.

The club also plays in a local Wednesday Evening league in the Clevedon area and two midweek Triples teams.

There are two clubs under the ‘Portishead Royal British Legion club’ name (one men’s and one ladies), who play on the two greens at the Lake Grounds in Portishead, North Somerset.

At least one member from each of the clubs is on a committee, known as the Association, which run the day to day administration of the greens and surrounds.

The club is open to players and social members of all ages and operates a youth policy, safeguarded by a Child Protection Officer, with the aim to encourage the younger players to represent Somerset Under 25’s.

Monday is club evening, open to all (including new members) to practice and attend coaching sessions. We would encourage all bowlers and those that have not tried bowling to come along and experience the sport. We start at around 6.15 pm and weather permitting finish at 8.00 pm.
